Description
This is a paper edition of a geographical style London Country and Green Line Coach map. The only geographical features shown are the routes, and the River Thames which is shown as a series of thin grey wavy lines. The map, which shows the full extent of all London Country and Green Line routes, extends from Baldock in the north, Tilbury in the east, Aylesbury in the west and Horsham in the south. All London Country routes are printed in red and all Green Line coach routes in green against a white background (other connecting National bus companies services are shown with a thin red line and each is marked with the initals of its operating company. At the termini of each route the route number is printed in red within a black outlined rectangle. Destination names are included with the route number at the termini and are printed in black. Each route is marked along its length with smaller route numbers and the names of towns and villages it serves, these are marked by a black circle across the main route line. The central London area of the map is highlighted by a red rectangle. Twelve major towns are highlighted by a yellow rectangle and lines are shown in white with no route details. Around the edges of the map are the related town maps in greater detail (the information is in the same style as the main map but the background is yellow). Summer services are indicated by a dotted line, limited services by an asterisk, British Rail stations and Underground stations are marked with the company logos and places of interest are marked with a red triangle. A key and two scales in miles (for main and town plan maps) are given in the bottom left corner of the map and the title is at the top.
The reverse of the map is printed in black and green and a table gives details of the principle places served by each route. There is also a map of the central area in greater detail. This map has a white background and shows coach routes in black. Boarding points are shown as a white circle (when a vehicle can be boarded in both directions) or an arrow (when a vehicle can only be boarded in the direction indicated). Terminal points are indicated by a black circle with the route number printed in white. Route numbers are given at many boarding points to indicate which routes serve the stops. Other streets not served are printed in black outline. Underground lines are not shown. Parks and the River Thames are shown in grey. A key including a scale in miles is given in the top right hand corner of this map. General information is given about timetables, fares, children's fares, luggage, lost property, excursions, tours and scenic bus routes, addresses for enquiries, Golden Rovers and Greenliner tickets and a note about the adherence of coaches to the timetable given.
