Description | This paper version of the Underground diagram by H C Beck has been redesigned after the 1953 edition. The Circle line is shown as a rectangle rather than a polygon shape. The River Thames has been redrawn with more horizontal and vertical lines and the District line is shown as a vertical line again, running alongside the river. The branching points of lines have been redrawn to give the impression that both branches are equal. The lines are also thicker in comparison to the earlier version of the diagram. The escalator link between Bank and Monument has been included, shown as a series of steps and the District line is shown Eastbound to Upminster. The map appears to have been issued possibly as a loose sheet folded in two inside a London Transport publication. The reverse has a list of some of London Transport's publications. |
