Description
This is a geographic style railway map on paper, issued by the Baker Street & Waterloo Railway. The map shows the geographic features of the central London area with the Baker Street & Waterloo Railway overprinted with a thick red and black line. The District Railway, Charing Cross, Euston & Hampstead Railway and the GNP&BR are drawn as thin red lines. Other railway lines are marked with black lines, and main line stations are grey. Stations on Tube railways are shown as circles, whereas on other railway lines they have been printed as squares. Station names are all overprinted in black, except for the BS&WR stations which are red. The Baker Street & Waterloo Railway line between Baker Street and Paddington is currently under construction and this is indicated by a red and white line. Railway company titles are printed alongside the lines which they operate. LUT routes are included on this map, as well as other tram and bus connections which have been marked by lines of crosses. Geographical features such as roads, parks and the River Thames are included in detail on the map and are printed in grey. This map has a black and white border, the title is at the top of the map, and there is a reference key in the bottom left hand corner, as well as a scale. In the border of this map there are details about the opening of Great Central and Edgware Road Stations, as well as the GNP&BR and the Charing Cross, Euston and Hampstead Railway. The reverse of the map is printed in purple and green, and gives information about BS&WR connections, journey times, first and last trains, places of amusement and shopping centres, local fares and special notices.
