Description
This is a paper edition of the Underground map in a card folder. It was designed by F H Stingemore and shows all the Central London Underground lines. The lines are printed in red with no reference key to differentiate between them, all station names are also printed in red. The background to the lines is grey with roads marked in white, parks printed in green and the River Thames and water features coloured with thin blue lines. The border of the map has text boxes printed in red, to show the destinations of each of the lines beyond the area shown. Main line railways are marked with thin black lines and the stations are also highlighted by a black border. Underground stations and interchanges are shown using red circles, and Down Street Station is no longer shown after its closure. There are two map inserts showing the Piccadilly line's Western extension and Southgate extension. Places of interest are numbered, with a reference key on the reverse. There is a red, blue and grey decorative border, with the title and a key at the bottom of the map. On the reverse there is a key to places of interest, a list of theatres, the times of first and last trains, single fares and season ticket rates, cheap return fares, through journey times between Hounslow West and Piccadilly, and general information. The front cover is printed on light pink card.
