Description
These six decorative ceramic tiles dating from the 1890s were taken from Kennington station on the Northern line. They made up two repeating sections of a patterned tile frieze that contrasted with the plain brown tiles in the passage and on the platform walls. Kennington was one of the original stations to open on the City & South London Railway (C&S.L.R.), the world's oldest underground electric railway.
