Description | This black painted hand lamp was used on the Metropolitan Railway during the 1930s, possibly at Rickmansworth station. It has a paraffin burner and is as a '4-aspect' lamp, having white, red, amber and green lights for signalling. It was also used in foggy weather. The lamp followed a standard design used by the Great Western Railway (G.W.R.) that was also adopted by the Metropolitan Railway. |
