Description | This mouse mat was produced for internal use to promote the New Northern line project. It shows a section of a tube map that includes the Northern line and an arrow pointing upwards, towards the line. The symbol of the archer, representing the speed and directness of the Underground, was taken from East Finchley station and adopted as the project logo. Beginning in 1995 and completed over four years, the project was to modernise the existing Northern line and its trains. The upgrading included work on the tunnels, track, signalling, stations, depots and rolling stock as well as 106 new trains. |
