Description | The Transport Salaried Staffs Association (T.S.S.A.) used this steel box for collecting ballot papers. It is believed to have come from an office used by union officials at Aldenham Works, London Transport's main bus overhaul works once Chiswick Works closed. T.S.S.A. is an independent, U.K.-based trade union for the transport and travel trade industries. Formed in 1897, it was originally known as the National Association of General Railway Clerks but in 1951, following changes in the transport industry after the war, the name was changed. |
