Description | This hand-made poster for B.B.C. Works Wonders Broadcast, refers to a special B.B.C. broadcast live from Acton Works Canteen, that featured various musical acts from members of staff, as well as the Acton Works Male Voice Choir, and Chiswick Spitfires Radio Band. During the Second World War, a regular B.B.C. radio programme called Workers' Playtime was broadcast every lunchtime to entertain the workforce throughout the country. It proved popular and featured staff performances from different places of work. |
