Description | This painting by John Miller was commissioned by London Transport in 1999. It was issued as a poster the following year to promote leisure travel to the South Bank.The area was served by the new Jubilee Line Extension. Tate Modern, the focus of Miller's composition, had just opened. It was housed in the former Bankside power station, and offered a potent symbol of regeneration for the new millennium. |
