Description | Many of the jobs held by staff at London Transport are represented on cap badges with varying designs of the roundel symbol. This railway instructor badge includes the heraldic griffins at the base. Railway instructors are responsible for the classroom instruction of new staff. They are drivers who have been transferred to the grade of instructor for a five-year period, after which they return to the grade of train driver. Senior instructors oversee the work of railway instructors. Railway instructors are based at the railway staff training school. This was originally at Lambeth North but in 1963 moved to White City, and later to Acton. |
