Cap badge; Information cap badge, as issued to London Transport railway traffic guides, 1962 - 1978

Underground railway Traffic Guide cap badge. Chrome plated in roundel style, with "INFORMATION" inscribed across bar in lapis blue enamel on silver, and "LONDON / TRANSPORT" inscribed in silver on ochre enamel ring. Lugs on reverse, pin missing. This badge replaced an earlier fabric type in 1962. Initial versions were nickel-silver, whilst later productions from the mid 1960s were chromed. This badge is chromed, but appears to have text in the style of the nickel-chrome version. Traffic Guides, were posted at central London stations, to give information and assistance to the travelling public and tourists
