Description
This is a linen and card edition of the geographic style Underground map. It shows all the Underground Group railways plus the Metropolitan Railway. The map shows all lines in their entirety except the Metropolitan line which is shown as far as Rayners Lane, the Bakerloo line which si included to Hatch End and the Eastbound District line which is shown to Plaistow, stations beyond the boundaries of the map are indicated in boxes at the end of the lines. Seven different colours are used to represent the different lines, interchanges are marked with a circle in the colours of the connecting lines and station names are all printed in black. Geographical features such as parks, roads and exhibition grounds are marked with light black lines. Extensions which are under construction are not shown, and the head offices if the Underground Companies at St James's Park is indicated. This map has a blue border and a title and reference key in the top right hand corner. The reverse of this map is blank, and the map folds into a coloured folder. This edition of the poster map belonged to Sir Guy Granet and his name is imprinted on the front cover.
