Description | The London County Council invested in a large fleet of small steam paddlers such as the 'Rennie', pictured here at Lambeth Pier. Passengers occupy all the seats on the deck of the paddle steamer, while crowds wait on the pier behind a boarding gangway. The operation started in 1905, but was not a success and closed in October 1907. These steamers were eventually sold off to buyers all over the world. |
