Description | A man wearing a straw boater emerging from the Lombard Street stairwell entrance to Bank station. A second stairwell, with a tombstone-style 'UndergrounD' roundel, can be seen in the background. Both stairwells are enclosed by metal railings. The Threadneedle Street frontage of the Bank of England can be seen, midground centre to right; the man wearing the top hat on the right of the shot is probably one of the Bank's messengers. The traffic heading towards the camera on the left is headed by a young man riding a delivery tricycle. A STL-type bus on route 76 to Victoria station is turning into Queen Victoria Street. |
