Track down Billy Brown of London Town

During October half-term, we are tracking down Billy Brown of London Town at both the Museum in Covent Garden and the Museum Depot in Acton Town.

Families visiting the Museum in Covent Garden or the Museum Depot in Acton Town can track down Billy Brown amongst the historic buses and trains on display. Along the way they will discover who Billy was, a popular character from the 1940s, and how he used his playful rhymes to encourage passengers to be on their best behaviour on public transport.

Don’t forget to check out our fun Billy Brown activities for you to enjoy from home on our Family Activities page!

Visitors to the Museum will also be among the first to explore the refurbished London Transport at War gallery. The new gallery will highlight important historical stories about life in wartime and includes an atmospheric sheltering experience and visitors will make their own Tube station shelter ticket.

October Half Term at London Transport Museum is taking place from Saturday 17 October to Sunday 1 November 2020.

Tickets must be booked in advance to guarantee entry.

A creative activity pack designed for children aged 4 to 11 is also available to purchase in advance for £5. This includes a craft activity to complete during your visit and fun quizzes and a transport inspired experiment to try out at home.

Please read our full FAQs page before visiting.
