Family fun this half term

Join us over February half term for lively games and craft activities that celebrate London’s famous Tube network and the ways it connects people to the places they love. As we mark the 160th anniversary of the London Underground, come and discover our award-winning Museum, a great place for visitors of all ages to have fun together and discover the history of London’s transport network.

Our half term family activities run from 10:00 - 16:00. There’s no need to pre-book: they run on a first come, first served basis, so just drop in!

Add a message to the #LoveTheTube wall

Want to share what you love about the Tube? Who are the special people or places the network brings you closer to? Add your dedication to a love-heart and stick it to the Tube mural. Take a snap of your message and share it with us on social media!

There’s so much more to see and do at the Museum!

Step into the past

See historic Underground trains – including the only remaining steam locomotive used in the 1860s – as well as buses and trams and trolleybuses from London’s past. You can even climb on board some of our vehicles! See a life-size recreation of the tunnelling shield that helped create the world’s first deep-level electric Tube railway in the Digging Deeper gallery, and learn about the history of tunnelling, from the feats of Victorian engineering pioneer, James Greathead, to the modern day Elizabeth line.

From the past to the future

Explore our exhibition Legacies: London Transport’s Caribbean Recruitment, which celebrates the generations of Caribbean people that have shaped London’s transport history and culture: family-friendly interactives and labels help prompt conversations with your children.

Don’t miss the Future Engineers gallery where you can get hands-on with interactive exhibits, including sitting in the driver’s seat of our Elizabeth line train driving simulator.

All Aboard family play zone

Explore the All Aboard family play zone where younger kids can play conductor on a bus, repair a mini Tube train with toy spanners, and work in the ‘Lost Property Office’.

Enjoy tasty food

Grab a bite to eat at Canteen, the Museum’s café bar, while enjoying views over Covent Garden Piazza. Enjoy soup and sandwiches for lunch, or take a break with hot or cold drinks and delicious sweet treats.
