On Thursday 28 March, we are holding a Schools Early Explorer Morning. The Museum will open to the public at 12 noon.

Momentous moments

Discover significant moments that shaped London’s transport as we know it today, from historic occasions such as VE Day and the 2012 Olympics to events that have become urban legend, as you explore the Museum this Easter.

You’ll meet a cast of characters from different eras of the city’s fascinating history - then, taking inspiration from their stories of London past, present and future, get creative and build your very own futuristic time-travelling vehicle in a hands-on interactive craft workshop suitable for kids aged 7-14.

Climb aboard historic trains, trams and buses – including an iconic red Routemaster bus and vintage 1938 stock Tube carriage – and even learn how to ‘drive’ an Elizabeth line train. Visit the Legacies exhibition to hear the stories of Caribbean people who have shaped London’s transport history and culture and discover a secret side to the Underground in the Hidden London exhibition before it closes later this year.

Activities will take place every weekday from Monday-Friday between 10:30 and 16:00.
