40th birthday celebrations update

In light of uncertainties about public events, we have made the difficult decision to postpone our late opening to celebrate our 40th birthday on Friday 27 March. If you had intended to attend this free event with a guest, please do pass on the news that it will no longer take place as planned. A new date for this event will be confirmed and announced online.

You can continue to enjoy our 40th birthday celebrations online. Read about the history of the Museum in our latest Google Arts and Culture birthday story, how much do you know about the Museum in our latest quiz or read our latest ‘Shaping London since 1980’ blog.

Many thanks for your understanding. For further information about our current plans, please read how we are keeping you safe.

A huge thank you to everyone that has visited and supported the Museum in some shape or form over the past 40 years. We couldn’t have done it without you.
