Moquette sample; Sample of moquette designed by Marianne Straub, 1966-1970
Sample of wool moquette with cut pile interspersed with rows of loop pile. The pattern is a geometric intercrossing 'block' motif of navy, bright green, sea green and blue rectangles. This pattern was probably the most widely used on rail and road vehicles including 1972-tube stock (Mark II), 1973-tube stock and London Transport buses including DMS, BL, LS, early AN and XA buses.
