Description | Traffic jam at the east end of Oxford Street. Tottenham Court Road Underground station is on the corner to the right of the picture. There is a long queue of buses, automobiles and vans trying to use the junction with Charing Cross Road and Tottenham Court Road. The right side of the street is very crowded (the left side cannot be seen because of the traffic). A policeman is talking to a man in a flat hat in the foreground. An LGOC K-type bus operating on route 38 is turning out of Charing Cross Road into New Oxford Street. Two B-type buses (routes 23 and 17), company unknown, are in the traffic jam. Shop and business premises in view include Associated Coal Consumers Ltd; Pettitt's (pub); and This is the Plaice. U1935A - similar view to U1935B. |
