Description | A high angle view of a heavily congested traffic scene on the Strand, mainly consisting of a build up of Garden Seat Horse buses, with passengers seated on the top decks. The buses carry advertisements for plays at London theatres - see notes below. The large building on the corner of the Aldwych is the Gaiety Theatre. The street is busy with pedestrians. Note the uncompleted state of the Aldwych, which was still being redeveloped. |
