    Beaumont joined LT Publicity Office as young man in the late 1930s, straight from Cambridge, as copywriter and "general overseer of the written word, and in some sense a protege of Frank Pick". He went on to be Harold Hutchison's chief creative assistant, succeeding him in the role of Publicity Officer in 1966. He retired in 1975.
