    Biography
Vladimir Polunin was chief designer for the Russian Ballet, where he worked with Picasso. After his arrival in London, just before WWI, Polunin taught stage design at the Slade School of Fine Art and exhibited a little at the Beaux Arts and Redfern Galleries 1937-38. His wife was the artist Elizabeth Polunin (a painter and designer, 1877-1950). Polunin's background as a set designer is evident in some of his work for London Transport, whilst some of his works were influenced by cubism.
