    Born in London, David Langdon studied at the London School of Economics.

    From 1937 Langdon was a regular contributor to Punch and from 1948 a cartoonist for Mirror Group newspapers. His work has also appeared in Radio Times and Paris Match.
    In 1941 he joined the Royal Air Force where he became a squadron leader. From 1945 to 1946, editor of the Royal Air Force Journal.
    In 1990 he stopped working for the Sunday Mirror, and in 1992 he he also stopped working for Punch.

    David Langdon has also illustrated a number of humourous books.

    His work appeared on a number of advertising campaigns but the wartime Billy Brown character is probably the best remembered.
