    Catherine Alexander was born in 1904 and later married Noel Carrington. In 1920 she studied at the Slade School of Art. She continued to live in London until the Second World War. After the war she lived and painted in Lambourne and later in Steyning. She exhibited at the New Crafton Gallery in 1976.
