Biography
Attribute Value Biography William Fenton attended Selby School of Art, Leeds College of Art and Royal College of Art, interrupted by war service in the RAF.
Fenton spent two years in India where his painting was influenced by Moghul and Rajput painting.
The poster London Gardens for London Transport was his first major commission. This led to work for Barclays Bank, British Aluminium, Shell, ICI, British Nylon Spinners, Rolls Royce, British Railways and others.
His particular interest was railways and he produced illustrations for a number of books including 'Nineteenth Century Locomotive Engravings' and 'Locomotives in Retirement'.
