    Born in London, Horace Taylor studied at the Camden School of Art, the Royal Academy Schools in London and the Royal Academy, Munich.

    A painter and poster and stage designer, he worked as a cartoonist for the Manchester Guardian but from 1922 was engaged almost entirely on commercial art. (Green 1990)
