    Biography
    Robert Micklewright was born in Staffordshire. He studied at Croydon School of Art (1939), Wimbledon School of Art (1947-9) and the Slade (1949-52). He served with the army in North Africa and Italy. Micklewright was a prolific illustrator for the Radio Times and other publications,. He designed stamp books for the Royal Mail, paintings for Shell and Gulf Oil. He is a member of the RWS and has exhibited at the Royal Academy. He lives in Surrey.

    He now practises as a freelance painter, designer and illustrator.
