    Biography
    Clive Gardiner was born in Blackburn, Lancashire. He studied first at the Slade School of Fine Art, 1909-12 and then the Royal Academy Schools, 1913-14.

    He taught art at Goldsmith's College School of Art, and became its Principal in 1952. (Green 1990)
