Biography : Born in Chelmsford, Irene Fawkes studied at Chelmsford School of Art, and was awarded the Silver Medal by the City and Guilds of London Institution. She was a Commercial designer who worked for Poole Pottery and part-time teacher at the Sir John Cass Technical Institute. Her work was illustrated in the 'Studio Year Book' and 'Commercial Art'. She lived in London.
