The equipment collection is made up of objects used on all the different modes of transport in London. It includes items ranging from a horse whip dating from the 1870s to a twenty-first century Cycle Hire receipt. Equipment illustrates how job roles have changed over time and includes items issued to, or used by staff while carrying out their roles. Safety equipment illustrates the evolution of procedures put in place to protect passengers and staff. Maintenance equipment reveals advances in technology.
