The collection consists of plans and drawings used by architects, engineers and surveyors in the construction and maintenance of London’s transport infrastructure. Also, drawings reflecting road and rail vehicle design. Included in this collection are: station designs; drawings of bridges and tunnels; designs for the original electric tramway network; general arrangement drawings for road and rail vehicles; and concept drawings for street and station furniture. The collection reflects London’s rich design heritage and the engineering, architectural and technical excellence underpinning London’s transport system.
