Black History Month - World in Motion

London Transport Museum, in partnership with Transport for London’s (TfL) Black Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) staff network group will host a day of activities to celebrate this year’s Black History Month (BHM), Saturday 1 October 2011.
John Burningham: Journeys of the Imagination
A range of activities associated with one of Britain’s most successful and best loved illustrators - John Burningham. Events and activities include October Family Fun Half-term Workshops and Storytelling, an evening in conversation with John Burningham, a book signing event and an open 'Children’s London' Flickr Competition.

Metro-land Heritage Vehicle Outing

Travel back to the glamour of the 1930s and 1940s with London Transport Museum as we transport you back in time along the Metropolitan line. The Museum’s 1938 art deco Tube train and Engine No. 12, Sarah Siddons, the last operational Metropolitan Railway electric locomotive, will be running special journeys as part of the Amersham Old Town’s Heritage Day between Harrow-on-the-Hill, Rickmansworth and Amersham.
