London Transport Museum’s 1938 Tube stock is back on the tracks. Join us as we celebrate its return on Sunday 22 May 2011 as part of the Rickmansworth Festival celebrations. Children can travel for free when accompanied by an adult.
The 1938 Tube stock was a technologically advanced train that was introduced in 1938 and remained in service for 50 years and Engine no. 12 Sarah Siddons which is the oldest working mainline electric locomotive will make special journeys between Harrow-on-the-Hill, Watford, Rickmansworth and Amersham. Sarah Siddons will pull carriages dating back to the 1950s.
London Transport Museum Friends will run a free vintage bus service, including the iconic Routemaster bus RM1 from Rickmansworth Station to the Rickmansworth Festival site at Batchworth Lock. For more information about the Festival go to www.rwt.org.uk/festival/2011
Journey Times and Ticket Prices
UPDATE 17 May, 11:04 - Tickets can no longer be purchased online as postal delivery cannot be guaranteed in time for the event. Tickets can still be booked via the booking office on 0207 565 7298 and collected on the day from Harrow on the Hill (until 10:30), Amersham and Rickmansworth. Tickets may also be purchased in person on the day at these locations.

Tickets purchased for the 1938 Tube stock will also allow you to travel on Sarah Siddons carriages free of charge for unlimited journeys subject to space being available.
