Throughout the Open Weekend visitors will be greeted by many of London Transport Museum’s enthusiastic and knowledgeable Volunteers running all manner of activities. For the first time ever our Young Volunteers will be running family activities for young children, where they can help build a model metropolis and design their own Travel Card wallets to take home. During the Mapping in Miniature sessions, families will be invited to show us how they travelled to the Depot. Younger visitors can enjoy storytelling sessions on the Museum’s 72 stock Tube train and the ‘Tickets Please’ handling collection sessions gives you the opportunity to handle some of the objects from our collection.
Families can also ride on the Acton Miniature Railway on either a replica 1938 tube train or a Metropolitan steam train or take a journey on one of our Heritage Bus Runs. Volunteers will be actively involved all round in making the weekend a great success.
