Enjoyment to Employment

The Enjoyment to Employment programme aims to inspire a love of transport among children and young people, encouraging children and young people to consider STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) subjects through evidence-based activities which turn childhood enthusiasm for transport into careers in industry.

Last year 71,000 children, parents, pupils and teachers took part in the programmes.

A key strand of Enjoyment to Employment is its pre-employability training scheme, Route into Work. The Route into Work programme prepares 16-24 year olds, particularly those from communities that are underrepresented in the sector, for real career opportunities in the transport industries.

Its impact shows how Enjoyment to Employment is an effective solution to the skills shortage the industry currently faces.

  • Heritage bus tour operations at each of the three Museum Depot Open Weekends in Acton, with approximately 3,000 tour visitors
  • 38-stock runs on a series of routes on the District and Piccadilly lines. The 38-stock is also one of the stars of the Museum Depot open weekends and guided tours

  • Christmas lights and sights tours aboard a heritage bus to experience the wonder and excitement of the city at Christmastime

What our sponsors say

The Global Gallery at London Transport Museum is a perfect opportunity to engage communities in the capital through inspiring and captivating exhibitions. Cubic has been sponsoring the London Transport Museum for 30 years. The reason behind this is simple – it aligns with our values. The museum illustrates how innovation in transport makes a positive difference to peoples’ lives. Great examples include the tube map or more recently, token based travel. The museum’s collection is creatively curated to illustrate the changes travellers in London have experienced in over a century of commuting. Changing galleries and support programs continue to offer inspiration and learning opportunities to a new generation and Cubic is proud to be associated with this.
