From January 2008 London Transport Museum will offer new education sessions to enhance your children's learning and enjoyment of our newly redesigned galleries.

2007-2008 Foundation Stage and Primary Schools Programme

Booked education sessions

Join us for one of our education sessions where objects from the collections, costumes and role-play bring transport and related topics to life. Sessions last 45 minutes and cost £1 per pupil, accompanying adults will be free.

Build a bus
(Key Stage 1)
Join our Education Officer in this highly interactive session which focuses on London buses through history. Working in groups, children use brick sets to build replica buses of those they can see in the Museum galleries. Learning covers wheels and axles, as well as investigating quirky features on our historical buses.

Join our costumed actor for a fun tour of buses and Underground trains in our ground floor galleries. With role play, movement songs and counting games, your pupils are sure to enjoy their visit.

All aboard hands-on gallery

In 'All aboard' children will be able to board a specially designed bus, train and boat, taking control as a driver or sitting back as a passenger.  When you book a education session or a general visit, you will be allocated a thirty-minute slot in your visit timetable to enjoy this area, free of charge.

Activities for your museum visit

Here is a selection of activity sheets for your children to complete when they are in the galleries.  The activity sheets will help your children to investigate the vehicles, displays and interactive models in the museum.
