From January 2008 London Transport Museum will offer new Key Stage Two sessions which will enhance your group's visit to our newly redesigned galleries. Our new sessions focus on the Victorians and the Second World War in the history curriculum.

2007-2008 Foundation Stage and Primary Schools programme
Booked education sessions
Join us for one of our education sessions where objects from the collections, costumes and role-play bring transport and related topics to life. Sessions last 45 minutes and cost £1 per pupil, accompanying adults will be free.
Victorian tourist
Join our Education Officer for an interactive storytelling session using costume, objects and photographs. Children discover the journeys of a real Victorian tourist who travelled around London. Find out about horse buses and the world's first underground railway.

Victorian Tourist teachers' preparation
Shelter underground
Join our actor dressed as a Shelter Warden for an fascinating role-play session. Find out what life was like for the children who found shelter in the Underground during the long nights of the Blitz.

- QCA Unit 9 - What it was like for children in the Second World War.
Shelter Underground teachers' preparation
Education workshop at the Depot, Acton Town
London Transport Museum has an established schools programme for Key Stage 2 at the Depot in Acton Town.
The Depot at Acton Town houses the Museum's reserve collection, including buses, tube trains and trams. The Depot offers a day of WWII activities for Key Stage 2 pupils. These sessions are funded by MLA (Museums Libraries and Archives) and will remain free of charge until April 2008. The programme will continue in the Summer term 2008 with the charge of £1 per child.
Evacuee Experience
An actor in character as a WVS volunteer will help children to play the role of an evacuee group travelling on a 1940's bus. Followed by an activity session, where children find out what to pack in an evacuee suitcase. Using objects and photographs they compare evacuee life to that of children who stayed in London.

Day: Thursdays
Time: 11.00 - 14.00 (including lunch)
Suitability: Years 3 - 6
Party size: 30 children maximum
Adult: pupil ratio 1:10
Workshops may be subject to slight alteration due to the working nature of the Depot.
