Friends of the London Transport Museum

Donations and legacies

Do you have your own collection of transport memorabilia, which is perhaps taking up too much space at home? Why not consider donating all or part of your collection to the Friends, so that others can enjoy it too.

If the your gift is of material which adds something new to the Museum, you can be sure that what you donate will be preserved, looked after and enjoyed by generations to come.

If your material duplicates items already in the Museum's collections, or does not fall within the Museum's Collections Policy, we may, with your agreement, find an alternative home for it; we will put any sale proceeds towards the acquisition or conservation of other items in the Museum's collection.

Leave a legacy

You might like to consider making a bequest to the Friends in your will. This could be of your own collection of transport memorabilia; or of money, which will be used to help the Friends in supporting the Museum's conservation and restoration projects.

Bequests to the London Transport Museum Friends are wholly exempt from inheritance tax.

Future visitors to the Museum will be grateful for your legacy, bequest or gift. Your generosity will be acknowledged and, wherever possible, publicised in an appropriate way.
