Library admission
Admission is free, but the Library is small and can only accommodate two visitors at a time, so appointments are essential.

Access
Visitors to the Library need to use the Museum's Reception entrance at 39 Wellington Street find us. The Library is situated on the first floor at the top of a curved flight of stairs. Full disabled access to the Library is available via the lift in the main Museum and then platform stair lift to the Library. Please let us know when booking your appointment if you have any special requirements so we can make suitable arrangements for your visit. A magnifier and induction loop are also available for visitor use.
Essential information for visitors
- Bring formal identification with you (student card, employee ID, passport)
- Only pencils may be used for taking notes
- Laptops may be used
- Filming and photography are not permitted without prior authorisation
Copying facilities
The Museum can provide black and white, and colour photocopying - subject to copyright restrictions and charges.
Research for commercial purposes, including speculative research, is subject to photocopying restrictions. Where these restrictions do apply, we can only supply photocopies of material for which London Transport Museum is the copyright holder.
