The Press Office welcomes enquiries from journalists about London Transport Museum in Covent Garden and the Museum Depot at Acton. We can provide access to the wealth of information about transport and the development of London over the last 200 years.

London Transport Museum explores the heritage of London and its transport system, and the stories of the people who have travelled and worked in the city over the last 200 years. The Museum's collections include original artworks and posters that have been used to promote the city's transport over the last century, as well as outstanding examples of transport vehicles and objects that are evocative of times gone by. The Museum explores both past and present and engages visitors in thinking about what issues and opportunities there are in relation to transport in the future.

150th Anniversary of the London Underground

This year we are celebrating the 150th anniversary of the London Underground, which first opened to the public on 10 January 1863. A selection of images to accompany features on this important event is available on the Press images page and more will be added in due course.
