The prize of £100,000 will be awarded to the museum or gallery whose project demonstrates the most originality, imagination and excellence.
London Transport Museum is your Museum - transport in the capital, whether we live here, work here or visit, affects all of our lives. The new London Transport Museum explores the powerful link between transport and the growth of London, its culture and society since 1800.

Housewife's choice
A special event to celebrate the Art Fund took place at the Museum on 15 March. The fictional Mrs Dilys Muybridge, an eccentric 1930's housewife who lives in Harrow Garden Village, Rayners Lane, greeted visitors as they arrived at the Musuem. Using a specially selected poster from the Museum's historic collection of graphic art, she described what suburban life was like during the early 20th century.
Visitors had the opportunity to give their feedback about the Museum. Over 150 comments were written down and posted onto a special Art Fund Prize wall. You can also visit the Art Fund Prize website to see what others have said about the Museum.
